New Director General for the Swedish Medical Products Agency

The Swedish Government has appointed Catarina Andersson Forsman, MD, PhD, as Director General for the Swedish Medical Products Agency.

Following her appointment, Catarina Andersson Forsman has been nominated to
take a seat in the Management Board of the European Medicines Agency. Catarina
Andersson Forsman has held the position as Director of Healthcare at the
Stockholm County Council, responsible for all publicly-financed healthcare in
the region, since 2007. Previous positions have been as CEO of the Swedish
Medical Association as well as positions at the National Board of Health and
Welfare and at the Karolinska Institutet.

together with them continue the work for better health”, says Catarina Andersson
Forsman. “The Swedish Medical Products Agency provides a strong platform for
driving important issues related to sustainable healthcare and environmental
issues, as well as how we can support development of new therapies and treatment
with focus on the patient.”

Catarina Andersson Forsman is a specialist in radiology, licensed
physician and has a PhD in Medical Science from the Karolinska Institutet in
Stockholm, Sweden. She has a broad experience from several board and government
assignments. Catarina Andersson Forsman was born in 1956 and lives in
Stockholm.

The current management of the Medical Products Agency is very pleased
