The producer and house music star Steve Angello was recently praised in the reunited Swedish House Mafia. This summer he will perform as the headlining act at Malmöfestivalen in Malmö, Sweden. The festival is the largest city festival in the Nordic countries and takes place between Friday 10 August to Friday 17 August.
- I’m really looking forward to the show! It’s important to highlight the positive things in Malmö. It’s a city with many possibilities and it has a rich diversity. Malmö lies close to my heart and being able to do this project there is very important to me, says Steve Angello.
After the success with Swedish House Mafia and as a solo artist Steve Angello has become one of the biggest names in house music today. In the beginning of 2018 he launched ”För vårt Sverige”, a charity project with the aim to make a positive change in society. The project will visit a couple of cities in Sweden during the year and the concert at Malmöfestivalen is a part of this tour. Steve Angello will give the entire economic compensation he receive for the show to social initiatives and businesses in Malmö. The show will be the only entrance free concert that Steve Angello does in Sweden during the summer of 2018.
- It’s an honour to have Steve Angello come and perform at Malmöfestivalen. He will give the people of Malmö and the festival-goers a night they will not forget. That he with this concert also contributes to the society and the city shows what a fantastic artist and person he is, says David Östberg, project manager at Malmöfestivalen.
The goal with ”För vårt Sverige” is to engage the people and the business world in Sweden. The tour that is connected to the project will have the same set up as the festival concept Size In The Park that Steve Angello started in 2012. This time the effort will be on children and youth who lives in social alienation and children with diabetes. The project will finish with a televised fund raising event in Stockholm at the end of 2018.
With Swedish House Mafia Steve Angello, Axwell (Axel Christofer Hedfors) and Sebastian Ingrosso made Swedish house music internationally renowned. The group took over top charts and arenas with hits like ”Save the world”, ”Miami 2 Ibiza” and ”Don’t you worry child” before they broke up in 2013. For a long time it seemed like they would remain a memorable mark in pop music history. But on 25 March this year they reunited and appeared as the final act on the music festival Ultra in Miami.
Steve Angello has established himself as a vanguard producer within the electronic dance music scene. He runs his own record label Size and have released quite a few EP’s that have been critically acclaimed. In 2016 he put out the album Wild youth that have occupied dance floors all over the world. After living in USA for several years Steve Angello have moved back to Sweden with his family. Right now he is busy with the concept album HUMAN.
When Steve Angello enters the main stage on the final night at Malmöfestivalen the audience can count on heavy beats and a show that will take them on a journey into the universe!
