Brain Academy’s film ‘The Perfect Patient’ nominated for seven Guldbagge awards

The Swedish thriller film ‘The Perfect Patient’ (Swedish title: ‘QUICK’), produced by Brain Academy, a NENT Studios company, has received seven nominations from Sweden’s most prestigious film awards.

The film’s nominations are:

  • Best Leading Role Male Actor: Jonas Karlsson
  • Best Supporting Role Female Actor: Alba August
  • Best Supporting Role Male Actor: David Dencik
  • Best Photography: Ragna Jorming
  • Best Screenplay: Erlend Loe
  • Best Editing: Rickard Krantz
  • Best Make Up Design: AnnaCarin Lock

‘The Perfect Patient’ presents the captivating true story behind Sweden’s biggest ever judicial scandal. In the film, journalists Hannes Råstam (Jonas Karlsson: ‘The Snowman’) and Jenny Küttim (Alba August: ‘The Rain’) uncover the miscarriage of justice that led to the wrongful imprisonment of mental patientThomas Quick (David Dencik: ‘No Time to Die’) as the country's worst serial killer.

‘The Perfect Patient’ is produced by Helena Danielsson, Brain Academy in co-production with Film i Väst, Nordsvensk Filmunderhållning, Umedia Belgium, Nordisk Film and TV4, with support from the Swedish Film Institute and Nordisk Film & TV Fond.The film is directed by Mikael Håfström and written by Erlend Loe based on Hannes Råstam’s award-winning book.

The Guldbagge awards have been presented since 1964 for outstanding contributions to Swedish film. Every year, 19 Guldbagge awards are presented in various categories. This year’s award ceremony will take place in Stockholm on 20 January.

In autumn 2019, ‘The Perfect Patient’ was selected as one of Sweden’s three finalists for submission to the 92nd Academy Awards.
