Gala for the right to a childhood

Her Royal Highness Princess Madeleine of Sweden and the London Childhood Event Team are hosting a special evening in London in support of the World Childhood Foundation. NetClean is honoured to have been invited to the event and will be attending.

“The goal is to highlight Childhood’s global commitment to prevent abuse and exploitation of children, and to bring awareness of Childhood where many of our supporters live and are active,” says Charlotte Brandin, Executive Director for Childhood USA.

World Childhood Foundation has been close to NetClean for several years. It all started out of an idea on how to prevent the spread of child sexual abuse images on the Internet. A Swedish law had been passed in 1999 banning possession of child sexual abuse images and it was slowly showing unpleasant results. It became clear that the trade with child sexual abuse images had grown into a full blown industry with Internet as its distribution channel.

Christian Sjöberg, NetClean’s CEO, had an idea on how NetClean’s products could be a solution to the problem. In June 2003 Christian presented this idea to the Queen of Sweden´s World Childhood Foundation and a partnership was soon established. Today the cooperation is based on a mutual understanding of the problem and both parts are active participants in the fight against sexual exploitation of children. NetClean also supports Childhood through different activities together with for example Radisson Blu Scandinavia Hotel.
