​Tracking – new feature in ProActive

Tracking is a new feature in ProActive that makes it possible to detect an external disk that has previously had a reported incident, as soon as it’s reconnected to a computer with ProActive installed – even if the illegal files are not opened.

The majority of the reported incidents of someone looking at illegal CSA material are from USBs and other external disks. This means that the time frame to react and act before the material is removed, is very narrow. Our customers have identified a need to receive a new notification when the same disk is reconnected to a computer.

The latest release of ProActive includes the new feature tracking, which does exactly that. Tracking traces the serial number of the disk, detects when it is reconnected to a computer with ProActive installed and immediately sends a notification via sms or e-mail. Provided that the files associated with the incident are still present on the disk, they are included in the notification.
