Bianca Salming now under the wings of Nika International

Bianca will be supported in different ways in her rising career by Nika International in our unique program called, "Swedish Young Generation of Sports." Under this program, we will support young promising Swedish athletics in their early stage of their careers with things like coaching, financing, marketing and personal development.

Bianca Salming has a solid background in sports with her father, the hockey legend Börje Salming as a brilliant role model. Ever since she was nine years, Bianca has been active both in hockey and athletics. Besides the hockey team for girls, the Stockholm Team, she was also a playing in dedicated teams for boys.

From the age of 13, she decided to invest wholeheartedly in athletics and especially Combined Events. There, she managed to win three outdoor Swedish Championship´s and two indoor championships.

Last year in 2014 she qualified in the Nordic Championship in Iceland, where she did her Swedish national team debut a year younger than everyone else in the team. The result was a creditable 5th place in the Combined Events.

The same year she was also participating in Finnkampen for junior athletics where she did remarkably well in tough competition from a year older participants.

In 2015, she celebrates victory's also in the Nordic Championships, came 7a of the Youth World Cup in Colombia. The season continued with wins again at both the outdoor and indoor championships. Her personal record level is currently at 5703 points.

Bianca's goal for 2016 is obviously to win national championships for juniors and seniors, both individually and in Combined Events. The Nordic Championship and Finnkampen are two other events where she has high expectations.

The overriding objective in 2016 is to qualify for the Junior World Championships in Kazan, Russia. Two participants from Sweden will be selected for this event, so the competition for this spots is obviously fierce.

Nika International is the first Swedish privately owned racing team that competes in the WTCC, World Touring Car Championship.

NIKA INTERNATIONAL

Sweden’s only world championship-level motor racing outfit. Announced at a press conference in Stockholm in early 2014, the project has come to fruition thanks to the combined efforts of Honda Sweden and specialist motorsport squad NIKA Racing, which competed in the WTCC back in 2013.

Back then, the team managed to claim an impressive three overall race wins despite holding privateer status, but a radical rules overhaul ahead of 2014 saw the arrival of the new TC1 era – which heralds a set of entirely new challenges for the Honda Racing team Sweden venture. NIKA Racing also ran Rickard Rydell to the 2011 Scandinavian Touring Car Championship title.
