Oaxen Krog & Slip introduces solo-eating with a twist
An increasing number of people are exploring new things alone. Individuals choosing their own company are now embracing traditionally social activities, ranging from a cinema or theatre visit to long distance travelling.Oaxen Krog & Slip takes a fresh approach with their concept OAXEN SOLO, a dining experience that allows you to enjoy your meal with other unaccompanied diners: A solo adventure that you experience together.
You might be dining solo for a number of reasons– perhaps your friends are busy or you’re visiting Stockholm on business, maybe you’ve never dined out alone and would enjoy meeting likeminded people. OAXEN SOLO is the perfect opportunity to make the most of these occasions, "There are many reasons you may choose to eat on your own and everyone is welcome to Oaxen", says Agneta Green, cofounder of Oaxen Krog & Slip. "We hope there will be a great mix of people; we see it as part of the strength of the concept."
OAXEN SOLO will be a weekly event at the bistro Oaxen Slip. You arrive on your own but sit with people who are in the same situation. When making your reservation you simply choose what time you’d like to arrive and when you turn up you can just relax, enjoy the food, drink and the great new company! "Oaxen Slip is an informal meeting place that is open to all kinds of guests, this is why we chose to launch SOLO there, welcoming all solo-eaters", Agneta continues.
The innovative restaurant also has a passion for sustainable living, cofounder Agneta elaborates, "Sustainability is something that runs throughout our organization, from the building and its furnishings to the food and drinks we serve. With OAXEN SOLO, we are able to lift the social perspective.”
OAXEN SOLO will be launched on Friday the 5th of October at Oaxen Slip.

Oaxen Krog & Slip is situated on the island of Djurgården in central Stockholm. Oaxen is made up of two restaurants: The "Slip", a casual Swedish bistro, and the "Krog" where you can experience fine dining. Both restaurants have a clear focus on Swedish, locally sourced and seasonal flavours. As well as the two restaurants there is "The Club Room", for private dinners and meetings and also hotel-boat Prince van Orangiën, allowing you to spend the night at one of Stockholm’s most charming hotels which just so happens to be a prestigious Dutch vessel from the 1930s.
