How OPEN worked with Cavotec ahead of the engineering group's NASDAQ OMX listing

OPEN and Cavotec have worked together for several years on a variety of communications and marketing projects including strategy, branding, advertising, film and PR. 

While OPEN's niche is English content in all types of international media, a key element of Cavotec's NASDAQ OMX project required a switch to generating Swedish content in domestic media.

Through a cunning combination of Cavotec's great story, persistence and passable Swedish, we were able to create interest in investor publications - Dagens Industri, Aktiespararna and Nyemission.nu, as well as major national dailies such as Svenska Dagbladet.

We could also gauge the effectiveness of the campaign. Cavotec's Mynewsdesk newsroom enables us to publish a range of material - press releases, news items, images, video, documents etc - and monitor their popularity. The day of Cavotec's listing, Wednesday, October 19 saw a record 652 views on the Group's Mynewsdesk newsroom. In addition, we monitored analytics and feedback on Cavotec's other social media platforms: Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and their blog.

And crucially, the social media platforms provide ways for individuals, institutions and others to interact with Cavotec - a function that was especially useful during the campaign.

In addition to supporting Cavotec's PR work, we also worked on two projects with the assistance of illustrator and former OPEN regular Hans von Corswant.

The first of these is a visually striking brochure that contains images from the film trip Cavotec made earlier this year. It celebrates the engineering that goes into their systems and how they keep industry functioning in ways that mostly go unnoticed. The brochure is called 'Behind the Scenes with Cavotec' and you can download it here.

We also helped develop content for Cavotec's updated brochure describing how the Group supports industry in diverse sectors to operate more sustainability. You can find out more about the brochure here.

And finally, our friends and partners, Mårten, Marika at Mogey in Canada, and photographer Oskar Willers provided the film and images of Cavotec's products at locations all around the world. Mårten and Marika delivered a Group film, and two special films on Cavotec's signature automated mooring and shore-to-ship power technologies. (The latter is to be released next week).
