PACKAGING ARENA TO MERGER WITH BIO-ECONOMY CLUSTER PAPER PROVINCE

The members of Packaging Arena has said their piece. During the organisation's annual meeting they voted yes to the motion to merger with the internationally renowned bio-economy cluster Paper Province. A positive decision for both associations, since they now can string together the entire packaging value chain.

A few weeks ago, both associations announced that they wanted to merger in order to build a stronger platform together. Paper Province was one of the originators for Packaging Arena when the association was started, almost exactly ten years ago. Now they will be one and the same association, which Maria Hollander, CEO of Paper Province is very happy about.

– This is immensely positive for our 92 member companies since we will tie a number of new competencies and contacts to the cluster. Packaging Arena's vast knowledge within packaging development is very valuable for our venture to build a regional forest bio-economy. In addition, this is yet another evidence that people in this region are oriented towards creating cooperation and synergies, says Maria Hollander, CEO at Paper Province.

The exact details of the merger remains to be decided, but since both associations have complementing competences, and networks, Sandra Eriksson, CEO at Packaging Arena, is very positive about the future.

– This is a nice opportunity to string together the entire packaging value chain, from early research and important areas of technology, to customer and user perspective, which gives us greater opportunities than ever to develop the packaging industry and the regional bio-economy.
