Pressmeddelande -

New Swedish chairman of Arctic logistic cooperation organisation FARO

Magnus Tannerfeldt, research director at Swedish Polar Research Secretariat, has been elected chair of the Forum of Arctic Research Operators (FARO), a cooperative organization on logistic issues in Arctic research. FARO held its annual meeting as one of many side events to the ongoing international polar conference From Knowledge to Action, in Montreal.

‑FARO is an active organization that can help polar researchers to international cooperation in both logistics and research. The chairmanship gives the Swedish Polar Research Secretariat an enlarged network and increases opportunities for easier research logistics, which can be both expensive and complicated in the Arctic.

The purpose of FARO is to facilitate and optimize logistics and operative support for Arctic research. The forum encourages international cooperation for anyone engaged in Arctic science.

FARO is a forum for the exchange of information, start-up of collaboration and development of new ideas between national logistic operators in countries with research activities in the Arctic.
