MTGx strengthens Like.tv team with talents from Facebook and Tradedoubler

MTGx, the digital accelerator arm of Modern Times Group, today announced that Fergal Walker will join to head up the leading Scandinavian second screen service Like.tv (http://like.tv) from 4 November. Fergal comes from Facebook, where he has served as Head of Mobile Partnerships for the EMEA region. Like.tv has also recently strengthened its team by the appointment of Niklas Engdahl as product manager. Niklas was previously responsible for product development at Tradedoubler.

“Social interaction and dialogue is an important part of how people consume media content. Like.tv is the leading second screen service in the Nordics, and we are happy to be able to strengthen the team with two talented individuals who have extensive experience from leading digital companies”, said Rikard Steiber, Chief Digital Officer for MTG and head of MTGx.

“Fergal will be responsible for the continued development of Like.tv, and will focus on strengthening its market position, as well as on finding, developing and introducing new and exciting ways of making it easier for Like.tv’s users to come even closer to their favourite content. He will also be responsible for exploring and developing the opportunities that the second screen environment and business model offers advertising buyers.”

Fergal Walker was responsible for Facebook’s partnerships within the mobile field between 2011 and 2013, and worked directly with network operators, mobile handset makers, developers and media across the whole of EMEA. He has previously been Director of Internet & Broadband for the international business conglomerate Hutchison Whampoa Ltd. He has also held a number of leadership positions in Hutchison 3G, which owns and operates global mobile telephony networks under the 3 brand.

Niklas Engdahl previously held the positions as Product Owner and Product Development Manager at Tradedoubler, between 2007 and 2013. He has worked in the IT industry since 1996 and has extensive product development experience from online companies.
