Danir acquires Assistera with SEK 750 million in revenue.
Danir has expanded its business group with the acquisition of Assistera. Assistera has been active in the market for over 20 years and provides consulting services in IT and technology.
This acquisition has resulted in the development of a new organization in the consulting market as Sigma Society (a subsidiary of Danir) merges with Assistera, both offering qualified IT and R & D consultancy services. This merged company will operate as its own subsidiary under Danir.
The new company will be the third largest consultant broker on the market and is expected to have a revenue of more than SEK 1.1 billion in 2017.The company will be headed by Thomas Goréus (CEO of Assistera) and Jeanette Rumenius (CEO of Sigma Society) and P-O Malm (VP and Sales manager at Assistera).
Dan Olofsson, owner of Danir, comments:
"Danir's subsidiary Sigma is currently Sweden's largest privately-owned consulting company, and has had a very strong development since the buy-out from the stock exchange in year 2013. A 30% annual organic growth has resulted in a net increase of 600 employees per year with today over 3300 employees.
The acquisition of Assistera further strengthens Danir's operations. Overall, with this merger, we are providing a very strong range of IT and technical consulting services are provided to our customers."
Sigma is expected to have a revenue of SEK 3.7 billion this year. Assistera is expected to have a revenue of SEK 0.75 billion."
Strengthens the offer to customers
Over the past 10 years, the consulting market has undergone a major transformation: traditional consulting companies are challenged by companies offering broker services that have grown substantially both globally and in the Swedish market.
Jeanette Rumenius, current CEO of Sigma Society, sees the following opportunities:
"In order to further develop the consulting market, we are very pleased to combine Sigma Society, which has its focus in IT and Assistera, which has an R & D profile. We are now expanding our services and strengthening our delivery capabilities."
Strategic match
This acquisition fits well with Danir's growth strategy for IT and engineering consultants. An entrepreneurial business management culture with a strong focus on sales is the basis for both Sigma Society and Assistera. Together, both companies have a broad customer base with a strong position in several industries, such as automotive, defense, retail and telecom.
The company will act as an independent specialist supplier of qualified IT and R & D services.

" The acquisition is pending the approval of the Swedish Competition Authority which is expected shortly.
