Palais Aziza & Spa launches a bi-annual art exhibition with the Lori Park Art Collection

Palais Aziza and Spa, the 5-star luxury boutique hotel in Marrakech, announces the Artist-in-Residence series, a bi-annual fine art gallery exhibition showcasing Moroccan and Internationally acclaimed artists. Launching the series is award-winning US born and Marrakech based artist Lori Park.

Lori Park is a multi-media artist exhibiting in Europe, UK, USA and North Africa. Her studio is in Marrakech, Morocco - source of much of her inspiration. Her work has been featured in prominent international venues, including Sotheby’s “Beyond Limits” at Chatsworth House, UK; Spitalfields Public Art Program, London, and solo shows in the Museum of Marrakech and the Marrakech Biennale. Her work is in the UK National Collection, collections of King Mohammed VI and Princess Lalla Meryem of Morocco, and corporate, private, and public collections from Asia to North America. In 2016, her art made a splash at UNCOP22, where she was awarded “Trophee: Femme, Art Et Climate” by the Kingdom of Morocco and UNDP.

LORI PARK: 10 YEARS PAST TO THE PRESENT - COLLECTION HIGHLIGHTS:

• Gracing the gardens are Lori Park’s larger than life size wire Salukis, Arabian horses and the large-scale sculpture Blue Planet, awarded a trophee while on exhibition at COP22.
• The mesmerizing White Radiance figure - one from a series of 10 female-form sculptures shown at the Museum of Marrakech - greets visitors in the high vaulted hotel lobby.
• A collection of Textural Panels - mixed media on canvas works evoking movement and energy through colour and high relief can be found in the lounge, Moroccan salon and restaurant with the monumental and awe-inspiring Tide undoubtedly being one of the hallmarks.
• Abstract floating metal spirals resembling an organic yet undefined specimen with reference to a living organism or burst of energy are suspended from the hotel’s domes throughout.
• The collection of stunning blue Cyanotypes - created using a camera less photography process - reflecting environmental change in eight different countries, can be admired in the hallways of the Spa.

The Lori Park Art collection is open to the community and will be on exhibit at Palais Aziza and Spa from 2 December 2017 until 30 May 2018. The Hotel offers guided Art walks and a personal meeting with Lori Park and a visit of her atelier can be arranged on request.
