Nordic Travel Manager Award 2019

The first ever Nordic Travel Manager Award was handed out during the Nordic Business Travel Summit in Copenhagen.

When calling for nominations for this award, the 4 Nordic Business Travel Associations asked all their members to suggest a Travel Manager or a Travel Buyer, who had implemented initiatives which add value to the personal travel experience.

A total of 20 Travel Managers active in the Nordic Region were nominated. After much deliberation the jury, which consisted of a buyer member from each country together with the General Manager of each association and a travel supplier, decided on awarding Pia Kirk Jensen the award.

The Jurys motivation for giving the Nordic Travel Manager Award 2019 to Pia Kirk Jensen from Vestas Wind is:

On Pia’s initiative, Vestas Wind has implemented travel related communication through Vestas Tube, a ”youtube inspired” video channel. Short and instructive video clips are a user friendly and convenient way of communicating any travel-related topi, and form a solid basis for Vestas’ traveller centric communication. ”Vestas Tube” bridges cultural differences, is always accessible and easy for everyone to understand.

‘Congratulations to Pia Kirk Jensen from Vestas Wind. We had a great number of nominations and awarding one winner was not easy. There were many good travel buyers and initiatives to choose from. We believe that it is important to awknowledge the good examples – to inspire others and to raise awareness of the Travel Manager role and the importance of managing business travel’

The prize ceremony was held at the annual "Nordic Business Travel Summit", which is a forum for buyers and providers in business travel to meet for education, networking and exchange of experiences. The Summit alternates between the four Nordic countries each year.
