ARTISTS FOR HUMAN RIGHTS IN MALMÖ URGE TO HAVE HUMAN RIGHTS IMPLEMENTED EVERYWHERE, ALSO IN SWEDEN.

On Wednesday evening, 14 December 2011, numerous artists performed in the Event Hall of the Church of Scientology Malmö, in Arlöv, under the banner of Artists for Human Rights in celebrating the UN Human Rights Day. Their message: people should know their human rights and defend themselves by using them in day-to-day life.

As one of the artists said that evening, while addressing the audience: “Human rights is not just something that has to do with far-away areas, where there are conflicts, what we read about in papers. No, it has everything to do with our lives here, right here in Sweden too. Because right here in the Nordic countries we have to defend them too, we have to insist that our rights are being respected.”

A variety of artists participated in the program, in order to back up this message. Amongst those artists were the Solnicki Classic Duo, hip-hop composer Thee Dejossy and Hans-Erik Dyvik Husbyv who performed two songs of the Vreeswijk repertoire.

“We showed ‘The Story of Human Rights’ video which gives the developmental line of human rights on this planet, starting with the Cyrus Cylinder. Even for those in the audience who are professionally involved in human rights, this video gave them a new and refreshed look on the subject”, says Ad Vulto, Human Rights Department of the Church of Scientology and co-organizer of this event. “This video is part of the United for Human Rights educational campaign. This video is part of making human rights known everywhere, to everybody.”

Scientologi-kyrkan i Stockholm
