New CEO at Klättermusen

Johan Nordqvist has broad experience in general management and sales & marketing within international environments. Until recently, Nordqvist was based in Shanghai, where he served as Vice President Asia at EF Education First, the world’s leader in international education. Before that, he held numerous positions with Procter & Gamble. A devoted outdoor enthusiast, Nordqvist is moving to Åre, Sweden, with his wife and three children.

“I am very excited to continue building this extraordinary brand into an even more extraordinary company in cooperation with all the dedicated Klättermusen employees. Since the company’s founding by Peter Askulv 30 years ago, the Klättermusen brand has established a strong heritage rooted in functionality, sustainability and safety. These core values make up a solid foundation to build upon,” said Nordqvist.

Johan replaces Jonas Meerits, Chairman of the Board, who has served as acting CEO since January 2014 when founder Peter Askulv stepped down to focus on sustainability and product development. Jonas Meerits and Peter Askulv will remain on the company’s board of directors.

“Johan brings high energy and very relevant experience to lead the ongoing transformation of Klättermusen. On behalf of the whole Klättermusen team I would like to welcome him on board. We are really looking forward to working together with Johan,” said Meerits.

To further strengthen the management team, Klättermusen is currently recruiting a Brand Experience Director.
