Start of SSG Wind Sprint, July 20, 2014

Standard Solutions Group, SSG, is extending its cooperation with the international Wind Sprint competition, and preparations for SSG Wind Sprint 2014 are just about to begin.

The competition will be taking place for the ninth consecutive year and will be starting at the Baldershov athletics ground in Sundsvall on Sunday, 20 July. SSG Wind Sprint has attracted both international sprint stars and the Swedish elite every year. 2013 was a record year, with two runners in the Men's 100 m finishing in under 10 seconds.

"Of course, we are really pleased that SSG has decided to support the competition for another year," says Håkan Andersson,meeting director for SSG Wind Sprint. "With such a committed company behind us, we can now start planning for this summer's competition. A number of international runners have already been in touch and want to come to Sundsvall this summer."

This year's competition comes at the end of the qualifying period for the European Athletics Championships to be held in Zürich in August, and many runners will be here for the opportunity to secure themselves a place at the Championships.

"We have a number of Swedish sprinters who have a very good chance of qualifying for the European Championships, including our very own Stefan Tärnhuvud," says Håkan Andersson. The Swedish 4x100 m relay team were also just three hundredths of a second away from winning the World Championship last year, and those guys are certain to be looking for revenge.
