GARS investerar i fastigheter

Succéfonden GARS (Global Absolute Retun Strategies) har gjort sin första fastighetsinvestering sedan 2009. GARS som investerar i ett brett utbud av tillgångsslag för att sänka volatiliteten i investeringarna har nu sett över sina strategier och satsar återigen på fastigheter.

Euan Munro, asvarig för Multi Asset investing och Fixed Interest, på Standard life Investment berättar att de framförallt var lockade av den högre avkastningen som fastighetsinvesteringar kan ge genom relativt stabila och återkommande kapitalinkomster.

GARS lanserades som en brittisk Institutionell Fond 2006 och som SICAV fond 2011. Sedan 2012 finns fonden även tillgänglig för svenska privatinvesterare bland annat genom ett samarbete med Länsförsäkringar i Sverige. GARS fonden strävar till att erbjuda kunderna långsiktig kapitalliknande avkastning men med lägre volatilitet. GARS investerar i ett brett utbud av investeringstillgångar, som omfattar både traditionella och avancerade tillgångsslag.

Euan Munro, Head of Multi Asset Investing and Fixed Interest: "We are delighted to announce that just before Christmas, GARS made its first Real Estate investment since Q2 2009.

"Already an overweight  in the House View, GARS has looked for the right opportunity and mechanism to express a positive longer term outlook for the asset class. Global REITS have particular characteristics that appeal on our 3 year outlook where we expect an environment of low and variable economic growth in developed markets and an ever-widening search for sustainable yield. In particular, we were attracted by the higher real yield which Real Estate can offer through relatively stable and recurring property income, and the liquidity benefits that REITs exhibit.  

"These appealing underlying fundamentals of the asset class are complemented by the active management approach taken by our in-house management team. Unlike many competitors, our REIT portfolios are managed by our Real Estate team, rather than being either entirely separate, or part of an Equity franchise. This means we have a strong focus on the underlying fundamental analysis of the property holdings within REIT stocks. The Multi Asset Investing team has therefore worked with our colleagues in the Listed Real Estate team over recent weeks to structure an actively managed REIT portfolio of over £1bn in scale."
