Conchita Wurst inaugurates Stockholm Pride

The Queen of Europe inaugurates Stockholm Pride 2014. A historical celebration in the colors of the rainbow are on the agenda when Conchita Wurst visits Stockholm Pride this summer, for the second consecutive time!

Stockholm Pride is proud to announce the winner of the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 as honorary guest during this year's festival. For the Austrian singer, this will be the second time performing at the largets Prides festival in the Nordics. Last summer, Conchita graced Stockholm Pride with two spectacular performance at Pride Park.

- This is incredible! When Conchita got up on the Eurovision stage in May and stated "We are Unity, We Are Unstoppable," she summed up in one emotional moment how we all struggle together for a better, more open world. And now we have the honor of seeing her on the big stage, during an evening where we will focus on the fight, the fight for human rights.Focus on how we celebrate Pride to gather strenght in the joy and community that is the Pride festival, enabling us to continue fighting the norms of society all year round. A fight that Conchita fights every day - says Sandra Ehne, President of Stockholm Pride.

Conchita Wurst will perform "Rise Like a Phoenix" during the opening gala known as “The historic party”, on Wednesday, July 30 in Pride Park.

Stockholm Pride presents Conchita Wurst in cooperation with Navid Kabiri and Austria's national airline Austrian Airlines.
