Pressmeddelande -

Stockholm University of the Arts to host an international conference on artist research Oct. 25–27 in Sweden.

Stockholm University of the Arts will host Alliances and Commonalities, an International Conference on Artistic Research October 25, 26, 27 2018. The conference will include 28 presentations from artistic researchers from five continents and 200 participants from all over the world.

The conference is designed for artists, researchers, scholars, and students to meet and engage with artistic research on its own terms, and to discover how artistic research may connect out into the wider world. Alliances and Commonalities showcases the ways in which artistic research brings people together and reaches beyond the institutions that support it; qualities that are even more necessary and pressing in these divisive times. The variety of formats presented here – installations, workshops, performances, lectures, films, and panel discussions – showcase the diverse manifestations of artistic research today.

“We are so excited to present Alliances and Commonalities, a conference which includes a truly impressive range of artistic research practices coming from an array of disciplines, from five different continents and experimenting with method, form and content. Our aim is to strengthen the development of, not only artistic research but the entire research field, both nationally and internationally. The 2018 conference is fully booked and we are already planning a follow-up in 2020.”
– Cecilia Roos Vice-Rector for research at Stockholm University of the Arts.
