Startups pitched for ECA and some of the best football clubs in Europe

Stockholm Business School (SBS), Stockholm University, and SUP46 today hosted a visiting delegation of senior international football executives participating in the European Club Association (ECA) Club Management Programme.

The visit to SUP46 provided delegates representing some of the biggest names in European football to witness, first-hand, exciting startup developments in the sector with presentations from Signality, Voysys, Just FootballSportswik and Fanzone. Furthermore, an expert panel - featuring Andreas Thorstensson of  EQT, Alexander Leppänen of Dreamhack and MTGx, Alexis Piippo of TropSe Andjela Kusmuk, from Netlight Consulting and a co-founder of Area 08 and Sebastian Fuchs, co-founder of SUP46 - discussed the development and consequences of e-sports for the football industry.

Michele Centenaro, ECA General Secretary, commented that "the extra session organised by Stockholm Business School is essential in our Club Management Programme as it brings football directors, academics and new technology experts together to discuss and reflect on the future potential of eSports".

Olivier Jarosz, ECA Senior Manager, added "Stockholm is a global technology and innovation hub, and startup hubs such as SUP46 are an important contributing factor to this. For us, at the ECA, CMP it was a pleasure to witness the latest technological developments that await our industry, and experience the collaborative working environment, which we are also trying to reproduce within our programme."

Highlighting the significance of locating the event in Stockholm, and at SUP46 in particular, Dr. Ian Richardson, Director of Executive Education at SBS said "We're absolutely delighted that we were able to come together with SUP46 to provide cutting-edge insights into developments within the game. The sheer breadth of start-up activity in Stockholm, and the valuable contributions of important thought leaders, provided the perfect backdrop to an event focused on the issue of transformation".

Lukas Gräf, Membership Manager at SUP46, adds: “SUP46 is honoured to host Stockholm University and Europe’s top football executives to experience and learn more about paradigm shifts in the sports industry. This is a great example of when tradition meets innovation and we are happy to facilitate this exchange, highlighting some of Sweden’s most promising tech startups in the sports industry."
