Sebastian Knutsson inducted into SUP46's Swedish Startup Hall of Fame

Tonight the startup community gathered at startup hub SUP46 and the Startup Gala 2016 in Stockholm as the fourth person was inducted into Swedish Startup Hall of Fame. The SUP46 award commemorates people who, through their actions and personality, have made an exceptional contribution to the Swedish startup scene.

Previous years Daniel Ek, founder of Spotify, Niklas Zennström, founder of Skype and Atomicoand Jane Walerud, angel investor have been inducted. Niklas Zennström and Jane Walerud took part in the jury choosing a new winner. Jane Walerud attended the event to hand over the trophy to Sebastian Knutsson. The motivation for inducting Sebastian Knutsson read:

“Sebastian Knutsson has been a serial entrepreneur in the online and mobile industries for more than 20 years. He co-founded King.com and has designed 100+ games including the world hit: Candy Crush Saga. As a true unicorn, King has further manifested Sweden as the global startup country. Last year Sebastian founded Sweet Capital where he invests in startups and continues to develop Sweden´s startup ecosystem. He is a true role model and a real startup hero! Therefore, it is an honor to commemorate this by inducting Sebastian into the Swedish Startup Hall of Fame.”

- Sebastian Knutsson is a great inspiration for the startups in Sweden and we are grateful that he wants to give back and help developing the startup ecosystem with his investment fund, says Jessica Stark, CEO and co-founder SUP46.

During the evening the startup company Soundtrap was named ”Startup Team of the Year” and the company Dooer ”Startup Launch of the Year”. Soundtrap is the first cloud-based audio recording platform to work across all operative systems, enabling users to collaborate and create music and audio anywhere in the world. Dooer is a software company challenging the traditional way of accounting.
