Stockholm’s new startup space SUP46 (Start-Up People of Sweden) officially opened by Daniel Ek

Yesterday evening the entire Stockholm startup community gathered at Regeringsgatan 29 to celebrate the launch of SUP46 (Start-Up People of Sweden). Daniel Ek, founder of Spotify, kicked off the opening ceremony and was also appointed as the first inductee into the Swedish Startup Hall of Fame.

SUP46 gathers startup people in a Stockholm-based meeting & co-working space. Yesterday evening Swedish entrepreneurs, investors, strategic governmental organizations, media players and other actors with strong community authority and startup experience was invited to a historical evening and launch party for the brand new startup space.

- Our vision is to make Stockholm the number one startup city in the world. Though Stockholm is one of the world’s leading startup hotspots, the lack of a centrally located meeting & co-working space for the startup community has been obvious. SUP46 will become an important part of the ecosystem to contribute to more Swedish success stories, says Jessica Stark, CEO and Co-founder of SUP46.

Over 300 people from the Swedish startup community joined the launch party as SUP46 was officially inaugurated by Daniel Ek, founder of Spotify. During the opening ceremony SUP46 also launched a new award; the Swedish Startup Hall of Fame, to commemorate people who through their actions and personality have made an exceptional contribution to the Swedish startup scene.

Daniel Ek was appointed as the first inductee to the Swedish Startup Hall of Fame, with the following motivation: "For his exceptional foresight and courage to launch and execute one of the most successful startups to ever come out of Sweden we welcome Daniel Ek into the Swedish Startup Hall of Fame. His combination of skill, courage, execution and grit make him a role model for current and future founders!"
