Hi3G and Vattenfall sign agreement on co-location of masts for 3G-equipment

Hi3G has entered into agreement with Vattenfall on in placement of Hi3G's antennas and other equipment in Vattenfall's power poles and transformer stations.

- I am happy to announce yet another agreement on mast sharing for Hi3Gs 3G base stations. Our ambition is to give Sweden access to the new 3G infrastructure in a cost effective way, and with a minimum of environmental impact, says Jörgen Askeroth, CTO Hi3G. We aim to sign additional mast sharing agreements, Jörgen concludes.

- Through offering our current infrastructure in terms of masts, power poles and stations, we are able to offer very good placements of the 3G stations, says Bo Sörberg, Manager of Marketing, Vattenfall AB Elnät Sverige. This brings substantially less environmental impact and lower costs for the telecom operators compared to new localisation of masts.

The parties have agreed not to disclose the order values.
