Inflatable Aircraft Interior

Umbilical Design won a design competition for constructing an aircraft interior for tourist trips into weightlessness. Their solution was to build an inflatable interior in the form of a 14-metre long module. The plane was primarily intended for the training of cosmonauts, and Umbilical Design’s solution made it simple and straightforward to change the nature of the cabin’s application.

Swedish company Umbilical Design wins exclusive contract with the European Space Agency

The Swedish space technology company Umbilical Design has been appointed to the Swedish node within the ESA Technology Transfer Network. The network consists of 12 national technology transfer initiatives across Europe, all working to identifying and transferring space technology to be used in the commercial industry sector.

Rymdföretaget Umbilical Design och ÅF inleder samarbete för att Sverige ska bli bäst i Europa på hållbar rymdtekniköverföring

Rymdtekniköverföring, eller space technology transfer, handlar om att hitta teknologier och koncept inom rymdindustrin som kan tillämpas på andra områden, som till exempel inom medicinsk teknik, fordonsindustrin eller hållbar stadsplanering. Rymdföretaget Umbilical Design och teknikkonsultföretaget ÅF inleder nu ett samarbete för att Sverige ska bli bäst i Europa inom hållbar rymdtekniköverföring.
