​Unbeatable Kalle Lyrén new Nordic Pro Stock Motorcycle Champion 2016

Kalle Lyrén, VEIDEC Racing, is the new Nordic Champion in the EDRS Pro Stock Motorcycle category. Kalle was quickest all through the qualifying rounds and proved unbeatable in the elimination rounds in the Scandinavian Internationals at Tierp Arena this weekend.

”We had a really, really good weekend but this will take a day or two before it settles in. I have won the championship before in 2014, so I know how that feels, but this time it was about how we won it – through an incredibly consistent season where we showed everyone that we are able to run fast over and over again.”

Kalle secured the championship already in the second elimination round but he was as motivated as ever when he lined up in the final against Fredrik Fredlund.

”We always want to win, it´s about prestige. We had some problems in the previous round due to the track temperature cooling off. I was focused on getting a good run, showing our ability to get back to where we were.”

With two new official Nordic records, a 6.98 second pass and a speed of 309.99 km/h, Kalle was simply untouchable and left Fredlund behind. But this year´s success comes in stark contrast to last year’s dysmal season where Kalle was hampered by technical problems.

”It feels like a revenge from last year when we had so many problems with the engine. We had three races in NHRA over the winter and we learned a lot that we brought with us to this season. We found harmony in the whole package and that’s what gave us the consistency to win.”

Over the years, Kalle and his team has also found harmony off the track. A long running partnership with main sponsor VEIDEC has given the team the long term stability needed to find success.
