THE LIVE MUSIC REVOLUTION HAS BEGUN WITH ‘VENUE’
Brand new music tech startup Venue is making waves in the live music industry with plans to roll out in Stockholm, Malmö and Gothenburg over the next month.
The new web-based platform is transforming the booking process, making it simple to book live music gigs by crowdfunding performances before they happen.
Founder, Mikael Lenart says it is a win-win situation for all parties, “Bands and artists are often unable to guarantee audience numbers and revenue for venues and therefore don’t get the chance to perform, develop their skills and earn money. Venue solves this problem by providing crowdsourced, crowdfunded entertainment ahead of time, therefore minimising the risk for artists, venues and fans”.
He is confident this is the future of live music. “We’ve already seen the disruption of the recorded music industry with streaming services like Spotify. Now it’s time to disrupt the live industry with Venue”, he said.
This announcement comes hot on the heels of receiving funding from ALMI allowing them to launch the beta version of the platform.
