Best in test: Doro preferred mobile phone by seniors

It began with the challenge to create a mobile phone that should be easy enough for anyone to use, and still be attractive to the senior target group. Since 2007, Ergonomidesign has worked closely with Doro and developed their user friendly phone series Care Electronics.

Both product and interface design have been developed especially for elderly and people that want an easy-to-use mobile phone. In a recent mobile phone user test in the leading Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter – the Doro 410gsm was included. The senior test panel compared brands such as Emporia, LG, Samsung, Sony Ericsson and Nokia – and Doro got the highest score of them all thanks to its special features that are specially designed for the physical, cognitive and emotional ergonomics of the user. With the knowledge that over 20 % of the population over 50 have hearing impairments or poor sight, this phone is a fine example of Inclusive Design, an approach aimed at making products usable by as many users as possible regardless of ability or age.

The Doro phones’ popularity shows that the designers and producers have really listened to the senior target group’s needs and demands and have developed a truly user friendly phone.
