Silver: Ergonomidesign and RTI Sports win the most prestigious German design award with a firm grip

On February 12 Ergomidesign’s CEO, Krister Torssell, proudly went to Germany, to bring home the silver design award 2010 of the Federal Republic of Germany. Ergonomidesign and RTI Sports win silver for their Ergon GC3 ergonomic bicycle handlebar grips.

The design award of the federal Republic of Germany is the highest official German design award. It is conferred by an independent jury consisting of university representatives, the design industry and the media. The design award is considered the “prize of prizes”, since only the German federal Ministry of Economics and Technology and the Federal States have the right to nominate candidates for this award. A company can only participate in the competition for the design award when the company’s product already has been awarded nationally or internationally. No other design award sets such strict criteria on entries.

"Winning the most important official German design award with such high entry criteria represents a particular boost and driving force for us at Ergonomidesign”, says CEO Krister Torssell.

All the winners in the field of product design will be presented during the “Ambiente” trade fair, between the 12th and 16th of February 2010, as part of an exhibition. The international trade fair takes place in Frankfurt, Germany.
