Vironova AB acquires NOW Electronics AB in Kista, Sweden

The acquisition of NOW is part of a long term plan of Vironova of building a strong technology platform to enable further development of electron microscopy based analysis tools for nanoparticle characterization. Vironova has together with NOW developed a camera specialized for electron microscopy use.

“By a closer integration of the expertise of NOW and Vironova the technical synergies can be further exploited to support our plans to become an established global supplier of electron microscopy technology for nanoparticle characterization” says Mohammed Homman, CEO of Vironova.

Founded in 2005 as a result of interdisciplinary research at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden, Vironova a company with 35 employees has quickly established a following of global customers working in highly-regulated and quality-demanding industries such as vaccine development, the pharmaceutical industry and material science. Vironova has developed a unique offering of services, hardware and software products. Today it has GLP-certified cell- and virus facilities that include equipment for advanced electron microscopy, image analysis, nano-characterization and viral clearance testing.

NOW, a company of 18 employees has been in business since 1985 and are situated in Kista north of Stockholm, Sweden. NOW offers consulting services focused on product development where electronic construction, embedded programming and/or image analysis is involved. NOW will continue as an independent consultancy company keeping unchanged level of service to existent customer base.
