Twilightsoundtrack sätter nya rekord

"THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON-ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK" kliver upp på förstaplatsen denna vecka på Billboard 200, dess första vecka i affärer och online. Trots att soundtracket släpptes fyra dagar tidigare i USA än planerat gjorde det en imponerande debut förra veckan då det gick in som nummer två efter en förkortad vecka hos återförsäljarna. Detta är första gången någonsin som ett soundtrack och dess uppföljare båda har intagit förstaplatsen på Billboard 200. THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON går upp på biograferna internationellt den 20 november. (www.sf.se)

Soundtracket innehåller musik från några av vår tids mest begåvade och beundrade artister, bland andra märks Thom Yorke, Muse, The Killers, Bon Iver & St. Vincent, och Death Cab for Cutie, som skrev albumets första singel, Meet Me On the Equinox.

Andra som medverkar på soundtracket är bland andra rosade artister som Grizzly Bear, svenska Lykke Li, Band of Skulls, Editors, OK Go och Anya Marina. Det finns även ett exklusivt bidrag i I Belong To You (New Moon Remix), från Muse, som också bidrog med musik till föregångaren TWILIGHTs soundtrack.

En turné över USA, med fokus på THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON, där flera band från soundtracket medverkar, kickar igång i Los Angeles på Hollywood & Highland Center på fredagen 6 november. "TWILIGHT - ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK" släpptes i november 2008 och har nu sålt över 3,5 miljoner exemplar internationellt. Soundtracket gick vid releasen in på Billboard 200s förstaplats, vilket var den mest framgångsrika debuten för ett Atlantic Records-soundtrack sedan Nielsen SoundScan började föra statistik 1991. Det var också den största digitala albumdebuten för ett filmsoundtrack i SoundScans historia.
