At the Agency of the Year Awards held yesterday at Shangri-La Hotel Singapore, Asia PR Werkz has been named local hero winner for Public Relations Agency of the Year. The Awards recognises Singapore-born agencies in the form of the Local Heroes trophies. The Award comes timely for the agency as they celebrate their 20th anniversary this year. Established since 1996, Asia PR Werkz is today one of Singapore's oldest and largest independent public relations agency.

Marketing magazine's Agency of the Year Awards is recognised as Singapore’s premier awards show for agencies and touted as the only one judged solely by client marketers. Unlike the previous editions where finalists were determined through a survey ranking, agencies were allowed to nominate themselves this year to allow for greater participation from more agencies in Singapore. Agencies were judged based on criteria that cover everything, from business performance to staff turnover. Staying true to the Awards’ mission, the entries were judged by a jury comprising entirely of respected senior client-side marketers based in Singapore. Twenty-three of them, from brands such Burger King Singapore, FrieslandCampina APAC, National Gallery Singapore and Singapore Tourism Board were on the judging panel this year.
