As technology improves, there is increasing number of flooring in the market. Floor is like a welcome mat that lies all over your home. Some homeowners like beautiful design flooring while others may prefer a solid feel. There are mainly 6 different flooring homeowners uses in their home:

1)  Laminate Flooring

Laminate has been around for a period of time. It has a wide range of deign and colours for homeowners to choose. With a protective layer, laminate flooring is more resistant to scratches. If homeowners are on a budget, laminate flooring maybe an ideal choice as it is relatively cheaper than other flooring type.

2)  Engineered Wood Flooring

Known for its classic wood design and texture, engineered wood flooring gives homeowners a warm and solid step. With its unique design of alternate layering, it increases the stability and is more likely to be durable and long lasting. Hence making it a worthy long term investment.

3)  Conventional Vinyl Flooring

A type of composite flooring in the market which uses recycled vinyl such as rubber or PVC to make a finished piece of flooring. It is cost effective and usually comes in rolls that will be glued down to the floor. It has also a wide range of designs for homeowners to choose and it is mostly waterproof. It is considered the most cost effective among the other 5 flooring due to its thin wear layer.

4)  High End Resilient Flooring (HERF)

A type of resilient flooring that has been introduced into Singapore market for less than 5 years. Its unique feature include waterproofing properties and high slip resistant.  HERF is coated with a layer of ceramic bead coating which makes your flooring more resistance to scratches. HERF has wood alike designs and feel which give homeowners a warm and cosy feel.

5)  Re Engineered Wood (REW)

Comparing with regular engineered wood, re engineered wood is a more affordable range of wood flooring without losing its specification to engineered wood. It is an option for homeowners who loves natural wood but is on a tight budget. REW warms your foot like other wood flooring during cold weather and it does not collect dust as compared to parquet flooring.

6)  Ceramic Tiles

Usually there is an option for ceramic tiles when you purchase a BTO flat these days. Ceramic tiles are known for its durability and hardness. It does not have as many designs compared to other kinds of flooring. During cold weather, it may be cold to your feet unlike wood flooring that may be warm.
