Kimberly-Clark Taiwan ranked sixth for Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility

For the second year in a row, Kimberly-Clark Taiwan has made the list of “2016 Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility - Top 100 Companies” organized by Commonwealth Magazine, the most reputable and well known business publication group in Taiwan. Kimberly-Clark Taiwan ranked sixth in the Foreign Enterprises Category and is the only FMCG company in the Top 100 list.

The “Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility - Top 100 Companies” program was established 10 years ago and is today one of Taiwan’s top CSR awards.A judging panel consisting of government officials, CSR and sustainability professionals and academics, NGO representatives and business consultants vigorously review four aspects of participating companies: Corporate Governance, Corporate Commitment, Social Involvement and Environmental Protection. Participating companies are categorized as large enterprises, medium-sized enterprises, foreign enterprises or ‘little giants’. Kimberly-Clark Taiwan ranked sixth in the Foreign Enterprises category, two ranks above its eighth place in 2015.

Other companies who were recognized include Taiwan Hitachi, HSBC Bank, Intel and Mercedes-Benz. Kimberly-Clark Taiwan received high scores across all four dimensions especially in Environmental Protection. Its score of 9.27 (10 is the highest score) placed Kimberly-Clark Taiwan in third position among the foreign enterprises in the area of contribution towards the environment. High recognition was given to Kimberly-Clark for its efforts to lead the way in promoting sustainable forest certification for tissue products in the market and reducing its environmental footprint through year on year Green House Gas reduction.
