Kimberly-Clark Taiwan Recognized for its Commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility

For the third year in a row, Kimberly-Clark Taiwan has received the “Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility Award” organized by Commonwealth Magazine, the most reputable and well known business media group in Taiwan. K-C Taiwan ranked third in the Foreign Enterprises Category and is the only consumer goods company to have been included in the top ten in this category for three years.

Samuel Phan, Managing Director of Kimberly-Clark Taiwan, received the award from Cheng-Mount Cheng, Vice President of Taiwan Financial Supervisory Commission.

The “Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility and Top 100 Best CSR Companies” awards are considered one of Taiwan’s top CSR recognition and were introduced a decade ago.  A judging panel consisting of government officials, CSR and sustainability professionals and academics, NGO representatives and business consultants assess four dimensions of each company, including corporate governance, corporate commitment, social involvement and environmental protection.  Participating companies are categorized as large enterprises, medium-sized enterprises, foreign enterprises or ‘little giants’.   Kimberly-Clark Taiwan has been continuously improving its ranking from eighth in 2015, sixth in 2016 to the third place this year.

“Being the leading tissue brand worldwide, Kimberly-Clark should be applauded for its proactive investment in sustainability and in leading the way to get environmental certification in protecting the earth,” commented the judging panel in the official award announcement.  In 2009, K-C Taiwan introduced the first ever Forest Stewardship Council (FSC™) certified Kleenex branded tissue product in the market.  In 2011, Kleenex Taiwan once again became the first tissue brand to have its full portfolio of products certified by FSC™. In addition to making its products more sustainable, Kimberly-Clark Taiwan has been promoting forest conservation education among various groups, including elementary school students, teachers, government officials and consumers to encourage green and sustainable consumption.

Every pack of Kleenex tissue products in Taiwan is certified by FSC and provides consumers with the most sustainable choice.
