In celebration of sixty years of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s reign in June 2012, Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London invites guests to commemorate this special event with a unique four day Diamond Jubilee Tour that takes place from 2-6 June 2012.

Priced from GBP 6,500 per person, guests will enjoy prime positioning on The HMS Belfast to view the Diamond Jubilee River Pageant, and on Carlton Terrace to watch the royal procession to and from Buckingham Palace. The tour also includes a trip to Henry VIII’s hunting lodge and lunch at the home of Randolph and Catherine Churchill. A suitably jubilant itinerary that includes accommodation in the splendour of Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park.

The Diamond Jubilee Tour is from Saturday 2 June to Wednesday 6 June 2012 and includes:

Saturday 2 June 2012
Check into the hotel. Pre dinner champagne and canapés and a welcome dinner, before retiring to a deluxe room.

Sunday 3 June 2012
A trip to The HMS Belfast to view The Diamond Jubilee River Pageant. This is the main event of the Royal Jubilee in which The Queen will lead a fleet of 1200 vessels followed by members of the Royal Family, all in historic boats. Her Majesty will disembark at The Tower of London, opposite The HMS Belfast, when there will be a 42 gun salute. Celebrations also include a tour of the ship with a Member of the Ship’s Company with drinks, lunch and afternoon tea served throughout the day.

Guests will then return to the hotel for an evening at leisure.

Monday 4 June 2012
The morning begins with a visit to Penshurst Place, the previous hunting lodge of Henry VIII and now owned by the Sidney Family. The gardens are one of the finest examples of Elizabethan design in England.

Lunch will be held at the home of Randolph and Catherine Churchill, a charming Queen Anne home beset with personal Churchill family treasures, before returning to London for an evening at leisure.

Tuesday 5 June 2012
The group will watch the Royal procession from 12 Carlton House with exclusive use of the roof terrace overlooking The Mall. Guests will have unrestricted views of the Golden Coach in which The Queen will travel to St Pauls, the very same one she used for her Coronation, followed by members of the Royal Family accompanied by the Household Cavalry.

Guest will then return to the hotel for a farewell dinner and an evening at leisure before checkout the following morning.

With the tranquillity of Royal Parkland on one side and the sophistication of Knightsbridge on the other, Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park has long been the setting for royal visits, society balls and official engagements. Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the late Princess Margaret first learned to dance in the gilded ballroom, while Prince Charles and Princess Anne visited the tearooms as children. More recently, the hotel was the venue for a spectacular gala dinner before the royal marriage of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park also boasts the only private Royal Entrance from Hyde Park.  Traditionally reserved for royal use, guests can still partake in this grand tradition through special permission from The Royal Parks.

The Diamond Jubilee Tour package is priced from GBP 6,500 for one person and GBP 11,280 for two people sharing the same accommodation.  Valid from 2 to 6 June 2012 only, inclusive of Full English Breakfast, exclusive of VAT at 20% and 5% discretionary service charge, subject to availability.  Reservations can be made by contacting the hotel directly on +44 (0) 207 201 3618 or at jsandhu@mohg.com or through the direct on-line reservations service, www.mandarinoriental.com/london.
