Marketing Institute of Singapore makes a leap to China

Marketing Institute of Singapore (MIS) is pleased to announce the opening of its first overseas office in China.

MIS has a 41-year history as the national body of sales and marketing and set up Marketing Institute of Singapore Training Centre (MIS Training Centre) in 1993 as a private education institute offering diploma and degree courses.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed today at the Opening Ceremony held today in Beijing to formalise the collaboration framework between MIS/ MIS Training Centre and China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT).

“China is fast becoming the second largest consumer market with huge purchasing power. This is the perfect time for MIS to leverage on the growth and connect with Chinese marketers. They are the aspiring marketers of tomorrow”, said Mr Roger Wang, President of MIS.

With this MOU, CCPIT will tap onto Singapore’s position as a regional marketing hub and at the same time partner with MIS to provide quality education, training and marketing industry related events for Chinese marketers. MIS will promote the sharing of experience and knowledge between Singaporean and Chinese marketers.

“As Singapore and China are members of Asia Marketing Federation (AMF), we believe that the MOU will further strengthen the collaboration between the two countries so as to create stronger presence in the ASEAN region and beyond. Now, a marketer in China can become a MIS member with this MOU”, said Mr Wang.

A MIS China Advisory board will be appointed to inject a Chinese perspective and approach to MIS’ existing multi-faceted ways in creating and connecting marketers.
