BritCham Energy Debate 2016: Energy Challenges in a Changing World, 14 March 2016

BritCham invites all NBAS Member to participate in their Energy Debate 2016!

The Chamber will be hosting an evening event to debate some of the key challenges in the Energy Industry at present. This wide-ranging discussion will look at the challenges of energy provision, security of supply and sustainability.

To lead the debate, we will have two internationally renowned speakers. Lord Oxburgh is a distinguished scientist, a leading commentator on Energy Policy and the environment, an advisor on research and environmental issues to the Government of Singapore and a former Chairman of Shell Transport and Trading. Christoph Frei is the Secretary General of the World Energy Council. Dr. Frei was formerly Senior Director, Energy Industries & Policy at the World Economic Forum. In addition to hearing from our two guest speakers, there will be time for Q&A and a debate involving the audience. Our moderator will be Dr. Philip Andrews-Speed, Principal Fellow, Energy Studies Institute at National University of Singapore.

This is the second of a number of events hosted by the Chamber this year looking at challenges for the Energy Industry. Earlier in March, Scenarios for a Good Life will look at how the world might meet the twin objectives of providing enough energy or a growing population with the move to net zero carbon emissions. Later in the year, we will run an event focused on the Power Generation sector in South East Asia and on the changing landscape for financing projects in the Energy Industry.
