About La Barca
La Barca is situated on an unusually shaped site, one that is in the shape of a boat, on what was formerly a school campus. The campus is now Goodman Arts Centre, and a Swede has transformed what was the schools’ former canteen cum hawker centre into a stunning restaurant, reminiscent of Singapore’s colonial era. So called La Barca to echo the site’s shape, the restaurant is helmed by Chef Michele Sorrentino, one of Italy's top 10 chefs, and whose restaurant in Siena, Tuscany, retained a Michelin star for 10 years from 1999.
