CRIB announces inaugural CRIB Summit 2017

CRIB, a non-profit organisation whose mission is to empower women to become successful entrepreneurs through networking, co-founder matching and equipping/business incubation, will host an inaugural CRIB Summit on 11-12 March 2017 at Capella Hotel, Singapore.

The CRIB Summit is a conference that brings together inspiring international speakers, local and regional thought leaders in business, entrepreneurship and women’s leadership, and a great network of like-minded entrepreneurs, business leaders, trailblazers and female role models. It is a platform for creating change by inspiring women in their personal journeys, empowering entrepreneurs and business owners, and engaging attendees to making a positive impact on society.

Dr Elaine Kim, the co-founder and CEO of CRIB says, "We need to change the work landscape and start-up ecosystem to help women further achieve the incredible impact they have the potential to make on our economy and society. The CRIB summit brings together the people who will make this change."

CRIB Summit incorporates a symposium over two half-days, workshops over two half-days, a weekend retreat and the CRIB Market, open to the public. The Symposium will feature both local and international speakers who will speak to three themes: Female Entrepreneurship and Investing in Women; Women in the Workplace and in Leadership; and Social Impact and Philanthropy. Participants will also have access to a wellness session which includes yoga and mindfulness practices. A kids’ enrichment camp for up to two children will also take place alongside the Summit.

The keynote speakers at the summit include the current Presidential candidate for South Korea, Mr Chung Un-Chan, Former Prime Minister of South Korea and Chairman of the Shared Growth Institute, who will address the importance of diversity in society and the economy. Another international speaker is H.R.H. Princess Dr. Nisreen El-Hashemite, Founder of UN-hosted World Women’s Health and Development Forum and President of Women in Science International League.

Grace Fu, Minister for Culture, Community and Youth, Singapore will grace the event and notable Singaporean speakers include Dr Annie Koh, Vice President, Office of Business Development, Practice Professor of Finance and Academic Director, Business Families Institute and International Trading Institute@SMU; Ms Claire Chiang, Co-founder of Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts, Chairperson of Banyan Tree Global Foundation and former Singapore Nominated Member of Parliament; and Elim Chew, co-founder of FastFast.Delivery and ElimChew Tv, one of Singapore’s most well-regarded entrepreneurs.

The 2 half-days of practical skills-based workshops have been designed so that summit attendees will leave with practical, tangible outcomes and skills at the end of the summit. There are close to 20 workshops to choose from, curated to meet the needs of entrepreneurs at different stages of business-building, investors, philanthropists and social entrepreneurs and people exploring the next step in life.

SkillsFuture provides Singaporeans with opportunities to develop their fullest potential. Singaporeans can use their $500 SkillsFuture Credit to attend the CRIB Summit.
