99.Co Beta Launches The Simplest Rental Search Portal With Real Listings And Real Photos

Singapore, 6 May 2014 – Singaporean company 99.co bringsgood news to landlords, real estate agents and tenants alike with the beta launch of its online property search website 99.co.

The online portal brings a fresh new approach to the property search market, with professionally vetted listings that provide clear, up-to-date images and descriptions. Unlike traditional rental search sites which often have the same property listed up to 10 times by different parties, 99.co offers transparent searches of unique and authentic listings. Coupled with an elegant and simple to use search interface, this means no unpleasant surprises when it comes to actually viewing what you thought was your dream home.

We understand the pain renters have to go through, sieving through listings which are outdated and have bad photos at best, or are duplicated and fake at worst, and calling or texting agents who may be unresponsive. Through 99.co, we hope to make everyone’s life easier when it comes to finding and renting your next home,” said Darius Cheung, Co-founder and CEO of 99.co, who heads a team of eight.

Darius is a seasoned and distinguished Singaporean entrepreneur who founded tenCube, a mobile security company that was acquired by security giant McAfee in 2010. With a stellar founding team including technology veterans Ruiwen Chua, Anuj Bheda and Conor McLaughlin, 99.co has secured S$700,000 in seed funding from leading Venture Capitalists like 500 Startups, East Ventures, Fenox VC and Golden Gate Ventures.

99.co provides high quality listings of properties easily searchable on the map, by MRT or neighbourhood, and displays proximity to transport and commute time to any particular location. The site also provides rich guides to popular neighbourhoods like Chinatown, Holland Village and Tiong Bahru, with current information on each neighbourhood’s unique “feel” – its lifestyle, sights and attractions, food and transport options, and an overview of the rental market in that area.

Users can shortlist apartments and indicate their availability for a viewing. Once users shortlists apartments, 99.co helps users contact and schedule viewings with the agents or landlords, saving users the trouble of calling the lister. Agents and landlords can list their properties for free on 99.co — but listings are subjected to a vetting process to ensure quality and data integrity.

"User experience really makes 99.co stand out; the site is super easy to use, intuitive and well designed. I can easily see the properties how near it is to the MRT and find out how to get to my office immediately. What I liked most was the team understands our needs and went all out to help us do an extensive search for all the properties available. We’ve tried other sites that make us call or SMS the agents, most of the time they don’t even respond and sometimes are just plain rude, it’s just a world of difference,” says Vaishali Dugar, who recently relocated to Singapore and found her home via 99.co

Just moved into beta phase, 99.co currently has 2,000 unique properties listed on its site, and plans to introduce a rich roadmap of technology-driven innovative features to make the rental experience even more convenient. The 99 team also runs a rapidly growing rooms-and-roommates sister site Homie.co.
