HBM launches online presentation skills course for future leaders

SINGAPORE/KUALA LUMPUR, July 18, 2016 - Hong Bao Media has officially released an online presentation skills course designed for future leaders studying at Asian universities.

Participants learn technical skills, such as how to structure memorable presentations, but also soft skills which help them win over any audience anywhere.

The combined theory and practical course uses a "flipped classroom" approach designed to fit into students' busy time tables while offering sufficient contact time for the practical workshops. Participants watch an 8-episode series of videos in their own time, and complete the accompanying online study guide. They then attend a practical workshop lead by former CNBC anchor Mark Laudi at a date and time coordinated by the university, where each participant gives a presentation and receives instant feedback.

"The 'Future Leaders Present' course is based on the same, successful curriculum which we impart to senior executives," said Mark Laudi, HBM Managing Director and facilitator of the course.

"The feedback from our first batch of participants from the National University of Singapore was exceptionally positive, and I was thrilled with the persuasive and confident presentations students gave during the practical workshops."

The workshops can be held on-campus or another location chosen by the university. In Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, participants also have the option of attending the workshop at Hong Bao Media's own Integrated Communications facilities, which comprise of television recording studios and adjoining training rooms.

The course is specially designed for universities outside the traditional education markets of the United States, United Kingdom and Australia. These institutes are increasingly recognising that academic performance must be coupled with soft skills such as public speaking to ensure tomorrow's leaders are future-ready.

The white-label course materials are customisable, achieving the right blend of scalability for universities wishing to roll the course out to all their students, while customising the course to suit their needs and maintain their branding.
