Sustainable Development Goals in Focus

The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) targets 17 ambitious goals to transform our world by year 2030. Governments, businesses, NGOs, academics and media are called to task to uphold these shared values and goals, which will have tremendous impact.

Speaking at a panel on the 'Role of CSR in UN’s Sustainable Development Goals' (SDGs) at the Global Compact Network Singapore’s CSR and Social Innovators Forum 2016, Shweta Shukla, Director, Communications, CSR & Government Affairs, Kimberly-Clark Asia Pacific and member of Singapore Business Federation's sustainability committee, shared how the company is playing a tangible role in preserving our ecosystems and forests (contributing to SDG no.15 ‘Life on Land’) and partnering with NGOs and social entrepreneurs to improve sanitation (SDG no 6 ‘Clean Water & Sanitation’)

Co-panelists included Mr. Georg Kell, Founding Director, United Nations Global Compact; H.E. Jacques Werner, Ambassador, Netherlands Embassy in Singapore and Brunei; and Mr. Daniel Quek, Vice President, Group Corporate Affairs, Suntory Beverage & Food who also shared the contributions of their organizations to help make the SDGs a reality. The session was moderated by Prof. Annie Koh, Vice President, Office of Business Development at Singapore Management University.
