WOGA Asia 2016 - Program Overview

THEME : “Growing Asia: The New Global Oil & Gas Gravity Centre”

The rise of Asia has changed the economic, social and political landscape of the world. Home to some of the world’s biggest producers of oil and gas, the region is also the major global consumer. China, the world’s second biggest economy, is an “energy superpower” while India is forecast to become the third biggest consumer of energy by 2035.

Exporters in the Middle East are deepening business ties with China, India, South Korea and Japan as the Asian giants fine tune efforts to develop sustainable oil and gas links with major producers.

Oil, gas and coal remain the pre-eminent sources of energy for a resource-hungry continent even though most Asian countries have announced transformative investment plans in the renewable energy sector and are considering their nuclear power options.

Asia is the new global oil and gas gravity centre.

At the crossroads of Asia, Singapore is the world’s third biggest hub for the trade in oil and gas and has evolved into a staging post for many businesses looking to expand regionally. It has also earned a reputation as a world leader in the manufacture of drilling equipment and support vessels. WOGA’s organisers felt it was the ideal location for the sixth WOGA Asia.

The Singapore edition of WOGA will allow delegates the opportunity to enhance their understanding of the oil and gas market in Asia and deliberate on the most effective ways to sustain profit margins in a climate of lower fuel prices. The conference will provide the ideal platform to build new business networks and opportunities.
