Sony announces pilot Foursquare scheme across Europe

The FourSquare partnership will invite users to visit and ‘check-in’ to stores where the stunning quality and excitement of Sony’s leading 3D BRAVIA TVs, Blu-ray players and PlayStation 3 can be experienced and demonstrated by specially trained Sony promoters. Selected Christmas shoppers who visited the flagship Sony Centre on London’s Tottenham Court Road during the exclusive three day launch event were rewarded with a host of offers on Sony products, including BRAVIA TVs from £299.

The Foursquare promotion is part of a wider campaign by Sony to promote its 3D technology in 2011, proactively highlighting its superior technology and leadership through a variety of on and offline channels. Across Europe, Sony is running a number of special promotions around 3D products. Please visit your local Sony website for more information.

This is just the first stop for Sony on the geo-location service. Sony plans to extend the offer to its VAIO laptops and Blu-ray players in the future, whilst also reviewing the use of additional geo-location channelsfor their suitability in the European market.
