Better care with digital support – the world gathers for Digital Health Days

On Monday, August 25 Digital Health Days will open at Stockholmsmässan. It’s a two-day conference focusing on how advances in information technology can enhance future health and social care.

An app that reminds you when it's time to brush your teeth, let out the cat or check the mail; a digital memory puzzle that can be solved together with the family, even if they are on the other side of town; a system of sensors that will detect if someone has tripped and is lying on the floor.

These are three of the new inventions to be presented at Digital Health Days next week. These three are all aimed at making it possible for dementia patients to live at home longer, but other conference elements will focus on drug development, robots in nursing, patient interaction and much more.

– Now all the pieces are falling into place and we really look forward to opening on Monday, says Stockholmsmässan’s Nima Jokilaakso, Project Manager for Digital Health Days.

Several hundred participants have already signed up to listen to speakers from all over the world, including Paul Grundy from IBM and "e-patient” Dave deBronkart. A number of companies – from small start-ups to more well-established enterprises – will give presentations, and there will also be a number of workshops on the future of digital health.

– It feels great that we have put together such an impressive list of speakers this year. Stockholm has a strong position in the health care – IT interface, and that position is reinforced by our holding Digital Health Days here for the second time now, says Jokilaakso.
