Press release -

Formex Nova is exhibiting at DesignMarch in Reykjavik

The Nordic design award, Formex Nova, is being recognized at the DesignMarch International Design Festival, which is held in Reykjavik on March 28-31.
This through an exhibition at The Nordic House in the middle of town where all the nominees of the year are presented, and last year's winner Ragna Ragnarsdóttir has her own department.

The Icelandic design festival DesignMarch, which this year is organized for the eleventh time, is growing every year and is becoming increasingly internationally recognized. Here come famous designers from all over the world to lecture and exhibit. The handy size of the festival, where it is easy to make contacts, and the fact that it takes place in trendy Reykjavik has contributed to this being a design arena to be reckoned with.

Therefore, it is natural that the Nordic design prize Formex Nova is represented here with an exhibition at The Nordic House, which is managed by the Nordic Council of Ministers. The building, which is one of the Finnish designer legend Alvar Aalto's last buildings, was inaugurated in 1968 and is intended to strengthen Nordic affinity.
Formex Nova will display this year's five nominees and last year's winner - Icelandic Ragna Ragnarsdóttir – in an own exhibition curated in cooperation with Design Nation.

– It is very prestigious to be invited to DesignMarch, and we have got the best location one can imagine, says Lotta Ahlvar, project manager for Formex who will be in Reykjavik.

Formex Nova has previously exhibited at Milan Design Week 2018 and London Design Festival 2017.

– Our goal is for Formex Nova to be recognized in all major design arenas in Europe. It is fun to be able to show off the best of new Nordic design, says Lotta Ahlvar and adds that it is also important to be visible, in order to establish contacts and find new exciting collaborations.

The design award Formex Nova is arranged by Formex and Stockholmsmässan, where both nominations and winners are selected by an expert jury. It is thus an independent price that one cannot apply for. The winner will be revealed during Formex at the Stockholm Fair in August.
