Four Fresh Spring Trends in Formex's new TrendZone

Press release -

Four Fresh Spring Trends in Formex's new TrendZone

Trend Zone is the name of Formex's new acclaimed segment for trend inspiration. After its success last year, the area is being further expanded. In addition to an extensive trend exhibition focusing on four of the most important trends of the season, Trend Zone now also has a stage where you can have a seat and listen to inspiring trend lectures.

The Swedish Fashion Council has been tasked with designing Trend Zone in preparation for the Spring Formex to be held on January 17–20, 2013. The exhibition, which has been given the title “Fresh House”, interprets the hottest international trends in design and interior design from a Nordic perspective.

“We’ll be showcasing four extremely diverse themes in an eventful exhibition of inspiration where visitors are invited to literally step right into the trends,” said Lotta Ahlvar, CEO of the Swedish Fashion Council.

The names of the four trends are Instant fresh, Freshman, Re-fresh, and Fresh-er. Each theme is given its own separate little building full of news from the fair's exhibitors.

Instant fresh is about using simple means to create a fresh springtime feeling at home—think a pleasant fragrance, soft soap, and fresh cut flowers,” Lotta Ahlvar explained.

Freshman is about updating your home with exciting innovations—with a focus on the fair’s promising young designers.”

Re-fresh is about re-using and revitalizing the things you already own. Creating a new feeling by redesigning, dyeing, and painting.”

Fresh-er is the exhibition’s garden theme. This is about a kind of unstructured DIY feeling and enjoying the kitchen garden’s untamed greenery.”

You can find out more about the Fresh House trends in the Trend Guide produced jointly by the Swedish Fashion Council and Formex, which is published in conjunction with the fair.

The Swedish Fashion Council is an industry-owned forum working to promote Swedish fashion in Sweden and internationally. It analyzes fashion developments and publishes different kinds of trend information with an emphasis on fashion, lifestyle, and interior design for companies and organizations needing business intelligence. The Fashion Council also organizes industry seminars in the spring and fall, provides customized consultation for businesses and collaborates with institutions, design colleges, and museums.

Formex, the biggest fair for Nordic design and interior design in the world, is set to take place on January 17–20, 2013, at Stockholmsmässan. Formex is the meeting place for innovations, business, trends, knowledge, and inspiration. The fair is held twice a year, with more than 850 exhibitors, 25,000 trade visitors, and 750 media representatives.
