Major diabetes congress returns to Stockholmsmässan

The congress is the world's leading international forum for diabetes research and it is expected to attract more than 15,000 of the world's researchers on the subject to Stockholmsmässan in the autumn of 2021.

- We are happy and proud to host the EASD once again in 2021. Thanks to close cooperation with Visit Stockholm and other important stakeholders, we show that Stockholm is willing, able and delivers world-class meetings, says Isabelle Lechtman, Director Congresses & Guest Events.

This will be the EASD’s 57th annual meeting and the choice of Stockholm as location was made in strong competition with several other big European cities.

- Getting the opportunity to welcome EASD for the fifth time is amazing. We have a solid experience and are competitive when it comes to big meetings. We look forward to realizing a successful congress where we can also develop to the demands of future meetings.

About EASD:
The official name of the 2021 congress is the 57th Annual Meeting of EASD. It is the world's largest meeting on diabetes research. This will be the fifth time it is held in Stockholm (previous years: 1967, 1995, 2010 and 2015). It is expected to attract over 15,000 delegates. 9,000 sqm scientific reports will be presented. 11,000 sqm exhibition will fill the entire B-hall at Stockholmsmässan. More than 30 parallel meeting rooms, with capacity from 8 up to 4,000 people, will be used during the five meeting days.
