Fair highlights:

Guest of Honor – Barber & Osgerby
The assignment of designing a lounge for Stockholmsmässan’s Entrace Hall has gone to the British design studio Barber & Osgerby, known internationally for their innovative furniture, industrial design and architecture. Barber & Osgerby will also hold a lecture on Wednesday, February 10 at 1 p.m. at the Stockholm Design Talks stage.

The Design Bar 2016 - All the fun of the fair
The Design Bar, which is a cross between an exhibition and a world-class restaurant, was designed this year by architect Andreas Martin-Löf in cooperation with award-winning chef Fredrik Eriksson. The assignment also includes the Design Talks area, and under the concept “All the fun of the fair”, the visitor is offered an evocative, cozy atmosphere.

Trends Exhibition 2016/17
Swedish designer Emma Olbers, Finnish interior stylist Susanna Vento and Danish interior stylist Christine Rudolph were each invited to design their own space at the Fair's Trend Exhibition 2016/17: the outdoors area, the meeting room and the Teatime & Playtime room. The theme for all three is Nature is back for good!

Established – new area
For this year's event, Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair has created an entirely new area for established designers and design studios - Established. The goal is to promote diversity in the industry and support designers' own small-scale productions.

Greenhouse is the springboard for many of tomorrow's design stars. It will also include the premiere of the traveling exhibition Ung Svensk Form, which is run by Svensk Form in cooperation with IKEA and Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair.

Aurora Exhibition – Nordic Architecture and Design
The exhibition takes a closer look at what makes Nordic design unique and presents examples of Swedish residential architecture. The concept and curating is made by the independent architecture and design initiative, Summit. The exhibition will consist of two parts: the architecture exhibit Public Housing Now! in partnership with the Swedish Association of Architects, and the design exhibit Nordic Conditions. The name of the exhibition was borrowed from the Latin term Aurora Borealis, or Northern Lights.
